El Chihuahua Restaurant in Holladay

Price is good, portions are insanely huge. Chips and salsa were good, very large 32 ounce beers! Lol the food was exceptional. We had a party of 6 and all 6 agreed the food was decent. We order burritos, pork, chicken, Guacamole . All decent.

AMAZING FOOD!!! AMAZING SERVICE!!! AMAZING DRINKS!!! and absolutely love the little ducks they put in your drinks!!! So fun! Also love the atmosphere!

Fun place! But the drinks we got last night were way too syrupy! Made us sick not buzzed. Food was amazing!

Great food, great service from the staff but poorly trained and rude manager. I was told I needed to buy a mask to walk to my table through the restaurant. I advised the staff I have a medical condition and kindly declined. I was told its mandatory and I would not be allowed to enter with my party, despite HIPPA and the 4th amendment. They DISCRIMINATE and HUMILIATED me! Since when are restaurants refusing to serve people because of medical conditions. A "order" or "mandate" to wear masks does not take precedence over my LAWFUL right to protect my health! Filing descrimination suit and will make sure nobody else is subjected to this unfair treatment.

The reason to go here are the drinks. The selection is incredible and great variety. Always a great rotation in flavors, but keeping the classics available like the low rider margarita. The food is good, but not the star of the show. Great pregame location before heading out, fill the belly and enjoy some beverages. They’ve always accommodated larger parties in my experience. Give it a shot, you won’t be disappointed.

Went for lunch and got right in. Plenty of space, lots of window seats, which I like. Friendly staff and server. Very attentive. The food was delicious and plentiful. The salsa was tasty. I don’t have any complaints. The three things my group ordered were all very tasty.

They have the best taco salad I have ever had! The ground beef is seasoned and the tortilla is cooked crispy but not oily like other places. The ducky death star comes with a rubber duck which I was super excited about! I wish they would expand down to southern utah because I would visit all the time! This will definitely be a regular spot I visit any time I am in the area!

I love the chili colorado here. I always get that and a black cherry ducky death star. Love this place. So much fun. Great atmosphere. Its a little loud so if you have a large group its hard to hear if you arent sitting close together.

If it's a nice day you should definitely sit on the patio. The food here was also top notch. I used the beef chimichanga and a cheese enchilada. Both were very tasty. I would've preferred a little more spice, but the flavor of both dishes made up for it. They also have really tasty, Mexican inspired drinks that as as fun as they are colorful. Come hungry, the portions are quite generous. Overall we had a great time and will for sure be back.

Literally just walked in and the hostess started yelling at us because we said we had people waiting for us at a table already and told us we can't have people waiting in here and told us to go outside? Umm okay, I mean that's a great way to treat your customers lol, first time trying out this place, felt like the servers weren't really there, and wasn't really having a first good experience I'll see if I'll try it again. 🤷‍♂️

Visited this place for the first time. It had a nice open seating area, plenty of room. The atmosphere was very casual and service was alright. The food is pretty good, and coming from my amigos, it is one of the better places for Mexican food. Big portions for the price. Only draw back I had was on a busy night plan on loud conversations with your table, haha it was pretty loud, but good! ;)

Three words: Duckie Death Star. This is not a fancy place, but a great embodiment of everything that makes a restaurant great: huge portions, great flavors, and strong drinks. The Duckie Death Star is a perfectly sized mini fishbowl of cocktail that will do the trick. Fun atmosphere, sports on the TVs, and friendly staff. Great for a family dinner or friends night out!

Big menu, solid food, great service, even when they’re a full house they’re tentative & quick. Fun drink selection, and solid for watching sporting events, as they have multiple big screens around the restaurant

Cute drinks, good food. Service could use some help. I had a problem there and the manager called me laughing once I got upset. So we will see if I will go back service is a big deal to me. When someone is frustrated you don’t laugh at them. The manager was Anna.

The food was phenomenal, as always. Our server did a fantastic job even though he had a ton of tables (freaking Valentine's Day). And the cocktails were superb. I absolutely love this place and I will definitely be coming here in the future and I recommend it to everyone

The food was just a bit spicy for me this time, but otherwise, great food and great service. I'm also a wimp and can't handle a any spice.

The drinks are 5/5 but the food (which you have to buy to get these fun drinks) is very bland and leaves a bad taste in your mouth. I wish this place could be a bar instead because their ducky death stars are great! Also our waitress was rude and did not seem to care about our group which was disappointing.

This is one of my favorite authentic Mexican restaurants! The food is delicious and the service is impeccable! when you are here you feel like family! ...AND THEIR SALSA IS TO DIE FOR!!

We are from Maryland and after reading the reviews, we had to stop here for dinner. Here’s my list of great points:1) unique salsa 🙌🏻2) taco salad is LEGIT a salad with good quality lettuce and a tasty shell. Huge portion! Be warned lol3) after overcooking my boyfriends steak, the waitress actually offered to remake a few slices just because SHE noticed it was over medium. He didn’t say a word. 4) their $5 marg made with everclear is delicious and strong!

I LOVE this place! The food is phenomenal and the drinks are strong. It's incredibly busy in the evenings, especially weekends. I suggest getting there pretty early (like 5 or 6) if you don't want to wait too long to get a table. But the wait is definitely worth it!

Those are the best enchiladas I've had in several years. The service was fabulous. Special salsa was extra spicy and good. Definitely recommend this restaurant.

The Ducky Deathstar was a spiritual experience and something that any member of the 21 and older crowd should try. As far as the food goes, I really enjoyed the chips and salsa and the chicken burrito I ordered. The staff were also very helpful and friendly. Like this restaurant a lot. While it's not my favorite Mexican food in town, I would totally consider coming here if you're looking for a fun, casual place to eat.

***Overpriced**** Expect to pay at least $15 for one plate of food. The food quality doesn’t live up to the price, for $15 I expected the tortilla in my burrito to be at least home made, but no seems like they pulled it off the shelf at a grocery store precooked. The chicken seemed to be seasoned with a McCormick seasoning packet, I mine as well have made my own at home. They must be struggling if they have the audacity to charge $15 for something that is only worth $8. If you are in the area go to Maria’s or Cancun Cafe, they have better prices and better quality food. I only gave this two stars for the chips and salsa.

The service is very fast and friendly especially for large groups. Look this isn’t exactly true authentic Mexican food, it’s basically Tex-Amex but not bad quality. The drink specials though are what seem to make this place popular.

The service wasn’t the best. We felt like The older hostess Last night was constantly yelling at us lol. We walk in and we told her we had people sitting waiting for us and she aggressively said “we can’t have people waiting around in here” which i understand because the virus but geez. So when she finally sit us down she told us to limit our stay to an hour and a half because there’s lots of people waiting. Later on she told us we were way too close to a table that wasn’t close at all and she was going to seat people there and didn’t want the health department shutting them down (which i understand too) but why the constant nagging we are just trying to enjoy our first time here. So we get up to leave because we had it and she asked why we were leaving. You. We left because of you lady.

Have celebrated many events here, and love it every time. We have also gotten take out from here several times. It is delicious every single time. Service is always fast and friendly. Can’t forget about the drinks, they’re amazing!

The death star ducky is the reason to go here. The food seems a bit hit or miss depending on what you order. I had the flautas once, and they were okay. I've had the nachos and taquitos, and those were actually quite good.The star of the show though, is the death star ducky. There's a reason why when you're standing outside, every table is nearly filled with nearly every patron enjoying this drink. It's really fantastic.

Good coverage if Mexican cuisine. The mixed drinks are big although in Utah I am not exactly sure what that means. Inside is a bit dated but not uncomfortable. Things move fast including the staff of course.

This is a frequent dinner spot for us. We go for the drinks. And love love the food. The free chips and salsa are amazing. The service is fast and friendly. The food comes out fresh, super hot and really quick. They definitely have it down. I’m a big fan of their chicken molé.

I do not recommended dining here for the first time during the coronavirus panic. It kind of ruined the whole experience. From the second we walked in, the hostess was being very aggressive and rushing us back out. I found it odd that our stay was time limited but a table that was seated before us was never asked to leave or rushed out. The food and drink was pretty good but I couldn’t really enjoy spending time with my group being on a short schedule.

Love their salsa, had their chili corn carne... Delicious! Had the equivalent to the Long Island, holy cow, 🍹 very big & strong 👍👍 smooth too. A bit pricey but otherwise - delicious!

Tonight's dine experience was not that great, usually it is good to go, however after the third time of getting my order right and they messed up our drink order i have to say it was disappointing. Service was lacking, the waiter rarely came by, it felt like they had there third string playing tonight. I will go again because it has been awesome in the past, but tonight I should have gone somewhere else to celebrate a special occasion

I used to love coming here. I realize with covid things are rough. Our waitress acted like every request was an annoyance and she showed it. She was angry, annoyed and unfriendly. I was there with my family. Completely ruined our experience.

This was the first time visiting this restaurant, and I have to say I was very disappointed. This was far from authentic Mexican food. Which is sad because the joint itself was very lively and enjoyable. But the food was such a disaster! What I order and what I received was vastly different. I order the Chihuahua Combo- Chile Rellenos with rice and beans. What I received was a pile of stew over an egg?? I was so dumbfounded that I spent $17 on this dish. First visit for me here tonight. In my opinion I would say very decent Mexican food. I enjoy mole and had chicken mole enchiladas, 4 stars. I feel like there was just a little something missing from the mole sauce. Still delicious though. Quesadillas were excellent! Beer is reasonably priced. Fun atmosphere. Will most likely visit again. Great service.

The food is horrible bland taste and no spice at all. Food taste like they use spaghetti sauce. Wont recommended to any just pure nasty.
